Friday Fun – Matrix Desktop Enhancement & ScreenSaver

T.G.I.F.

The end of another week has finally arrived and it’s time to take a break from all the headaches and problems of the past 7 days.

Are you a fan of the Matrix?

If so, you may enjoy this Desktop Enhancement and Screensaver by ZMatrix.

MatrixI could tell you all about how cool it is to have the Matrix Computer scrolling down your screen in various configurations, but the fun is in using it yourself.

It will scroll down your existing desktop background without distorting the original screen you normally use until it goes into screensaver mode, then it dissolves into the Full Matrix Computer look.

Cool!

Just a little something to help brighten your weekend and maybe put a little smile on your face to boot!

This Weeks Useful Tool for Computer Users – Favicon from Pics

happyscreen.JPGI come across quite a few programs, applications and features almost every day in the course of normal work-a-day research trying to find the right tools to use in the Computer Consulting Business.

As a result, I often find some little known Free Downloadable or Online Features that could be of use to almost anyone to make their computing experience a little bit better and more productive.

This is just such a find…

Ever wonder why some websites and blogs have their cute little Logo showing in your toolbar and others don’t?

Favicon from Pics

Its Free and easy to create your own Favicon.

  1. Go to Favicon from Pics
  2. Upload your image & create Favicon
  3. Download .ico file to your computer
  4. Upload it to the “root” file of your site
  5. Navigate to your index.html file & insert <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico"> between <head> and </head>

You should now have your Favicon set and ready to go. (It should also show in your Favorites bar on Windows).

Sorry, this won’t work on Blogger.com or WordPress.com because you don’t have access to the “root” folder (it’s THEIR domain).

I hope you find this tool to be something useful in your daily computing experience.

If you find something you think should be included, please use the comments below or use my Contact Form to let me know and I will be sure to check it out for inclusion in a future article.
